Student Movers were specialists in long distance student moves. From our central location in North Shropshire we were able to offer long distance student removals services to and from most UK mainland destinations. We prided ourselves on the quality, professionalism and punctuality of our work. between 2005 and 2025 we were busily moving the nations; students, doctors, young professionals and young families. We moved people the length and breadth of Great Britain nearly every week of the year and had an endless list of completely satisfied, happy customers.
Created in 2005, Student Movers was one of the first removals companies in the UK to specialise in student sized moves, removals for students and student removal services. Since then a number of other companies have appeared in the market but Student Movers stood strong with one of the best reputations in the business. Student Movers became a partnership in 2011 and a VAT registered business in 2012. In early 2014 Student Movers began trading as Emrys Removals in order to attract a wider customer base.
In 2013 we re-launched our entire business as Emrys Removals. Emrys is the Welsh translation of the second name of Merlin the wizard in Arthurian legends. The standard depiction of the character first appears in Geoffrey of Monmouth’s Historia Regum Britanniae, written c. 1136, and is based on an amalgamation of previous historical and legendary figures. Geoffrey combined existing stories of Myrddin Wyllt (Merlinus Caledonensis), a North Brythonic prophet and madman with no connection to King Arthur, with tales of the Romano-British war leader Ambrosius Aurelianus to form the composite figure he called Merlin Ambrosius (Welsh: Myrddin Emrys). He is allegedly buried in the Broceliande forest, near Paimpont in Brittany. (we don’t do France)

I used student movers when I was moving offices between Manchester and Cardiff after seeing their website and obtaining a very competitive quote. My e-mails about the move were always answered promptly and efficiently. Although I wasn’t able to be present on the date of the move, at either location, my boxes were moved without problem and arrived safely in my new office. I would certainly recommend them to anyone else needing to move a small load.
I booked student movers to relocate from London to Manchester. The communication about my move prior to the collection was super-efficient and I always got a speedy response. It was reassuring to know that I could contact the owner at any time on his mobile should I need to speak to someone. The move itself was effortless. The guys turned up, loaded the van and we got on our way in a matter of minutes. I traveled with the van and the guys did everything to make me comfortable along the way and we had a nice coffee break to break up the journey! All in all a fantastic, professional, friendly service and great value. I doubt you’ll find better. Highly recommended.

We used Student Movers last week when moving from our two bedroom flat in Chester to a house in Somerset. We had originally planned to use a big removal company but the prices were very expensive and the move would have had to have been spread over 2 days, which would have meant staying overnight in a B&B. However, Student Movers provided us with a very competitive quote, even accommodating our requested 2am start so that the whole move could be done in a day! Both guys were very friendly and helpful and the whole move was very efficient and on time, with everything arriving safely. This is a fabulous service and I would really recommend it for people looking for an alternative to hiring a big removal company.

We found student movers by using a search for moving room contents for students on Google UK. The website they maintain is user friendly and easy to navigate. It contains information all about their service and useful links also. We asked for a quote and were given one based on our specification within 48 hours. This was accurate and the price we were charged finally matched this exactly. There were no hidden extras. The communication before the move was first class. On the day the mover arrived on time and was quick and professional. The next day we were in London and the same person arrived at the student residence exactly on time as suggested. He moved all the goods in to the room within 1 1/2 hours and nothing was damaged or missing. We paid for the move then, not before the day, and were provided with a comprehensive receipt. We were moving a lot of goods from Chester to London. It was quick, efficient and great service. I cannot recommend Student Movers enough and needless to say we will use them again in the near future, as we will need their services.

What a brilliant and faultless service we received from Student Movers and at a really competitive price too. We told them by e-mail what was to be moved (giving the approximate sizes and weights) and where it was all located. The two very friendly and able men arrived at the two pick-up points (Essex and West London) on time, moved all of the items into the two vans and arrived in Edinburgh when expected. The job started at 8 a.m. and was all completed by 1.30 a.m. the next morning. Student Movers did a wonderful job and we will certainly use them again.

Thanks for everything this week. We are moving boxes Sunday evening from hall to Church at 6.00pm if you are in Nantwich Thanks again 1380 boxes. Each year we donated the use of vehicles and our time to transport shoe boxes for the Samaritan’s purse Operation Christmas Child. This is a wonderful charity doing wonderful work for underprivileged children all over the world.
Student Movers’ efficiency turned a potentially difficult and stressful manoeuvre into a calm and orderly day. All communications prior to the move were accurate and swift. The driver of the van was friendly and helpful, and was exactly on time. The belongings being moved were packed efficiently avoiding any damage.
